Kawah Ijen volcano has a one-kilometer-wide turquoise-colored acid crater lake. The bottom left of the picture is the site of a labor-intensive sulfur mining operation.

    I was sure I’d seen this place recently in The Big Picture, and sure enough… Great image Will – I can smell the sulfur in this shot from the comfort of my desk in Sydney.
